Import Client Records
This guide will show you how to Import Client Records.
To import clients, the client list needs to be in an Excel .csv file.

It is important to setup your Client Fields and Client Groups before importing a Client list into the website database. |
Step-by-Step Instructions
Part A. Setup Client Fields
- Setup Client Fields and Client Groups in the database first.
- This ensures a smoother import process, rather than creating the Client Fields durning the Import.
Part B. Prepare Client List
- The Client List must be saved as an Excel spread sheet .csv file.
- The column titles represent the Client Field titles in your database
- Each Field title must be in a seperate column
- Each row represents an individual Client Record
- All multiple answers must be seperated by a comma (,)
- There cannot be multiple answers allocated to the Email Field; if there are multiples you will need to create a new column and title it Secondary Email and so forth.
- Keep the file as tidy as possible (refer to screenshot).
Part C. Import Client List
Proceed to Import Client List only once you have completed Part A and B.
- Login to Administration area of your website
- Select Clients from the Main Menu
- Select Import Clients
- Select Browse
- Locate the .csv file
- Select Open
- Select Upload File Your .csv file will be uploaded (refer to screenshot)
- Select the client fields from the drop down list on the right to match the cloumns in your .csv file (refer to screenshot)
- Select "This field needs to be created" if a client field currently doesn't exist (refer to screenshot).
- Select Assign Fields
- Select correct answer type if applicable (If you have requested that one or more of the columns in the .csv file needs to have fields created for them, you will need to assign the applicable answer type (refer to screenshot).
- Select Create Fields to verify .csv file
- Click Next
- Select Import if you have checked the preview sample and all is correctly matched (refer to screenshot)

Please note: Client Fields can be edited after the import is complete and additional answers can be added. |
