Why can’t I see newly created content in the navigation?

When you create content and you are unable to view it on the website, please check the scenarios below to see if any provide a solution for you. If not please contact your Account Manager:

A. The content may be restricted via Client Groups

If the content has been set up to be restricted to a Client Group, firstly check if you are allocated to that Client Group.

If you aren't you will need to allocate yourself to that Client Group by editing your Client Record.

If you are part of the Client Group the content has been allocated to, the next step is to check if you are already logged in of the front end of the website.

If you are already logged in, this new content will not show up on the front end of the website. So, if you are already logged in simply log out, log in again and the content should appear.

B. The Display Options are set to hide the content

Check the Display Options (under the Options tab) to ensure that:

  1. Hide this content from all navigation menus is not enabled
  2. Hide this content from all navigation menus when logged in only is not selected - if you are viewing the content whilst logged in on the front of the site.
  3. Display this content on navigation menus when logged in only - is not selected if you are viewing the content whilst not logged in on the front of the site.

C. Check that the content piece is allocated in the Location tab

It may be possible that new content piece you have created has not been allocated to a location yet.

If so, go to the location tab and allocate it.

If you have already exited the content edit screen, go back to the main menu of the website and click on the title in Recently Edited Content.

You can then go in to the location tab and allocate it to a navigation area.
