Do I need to incorporate payment terms and conditions on my website?
It is good practice to have you terms & conditions, privacy policy, returns policy, etc displayed on your website. If you are accepting payments online then we strongly recommend having these in place to safeguard your business in the online space.
There are two main reasons to have these details displayed:
- Consumers feel safer if the website they are purchasing from has their terms and conditions displayed. Having these details available removes a potential barrier to purchasing via your website.
- In the case of disputes with purchasers you have these terms and conditions to refer to.
To have an Internet Merchant facility approved by your bank you will be required to show various terms and policy clearly stated on your website. Once this has been approved by the bank you will be able to set up a third party gateway solution such as eWAY.
