How do I check the website is getting found in search engines?

To see what the search engines have picked up you may use either of the two methods below:

A. Check via Google Sitemaps and Analytics

  1. Login to Google Sitemaps and/or Analytics using your Google account details.
  2. After you login you will see a dashboard with a summary of search queries and keywords.
  3. This will indicate how many times your site has come up in searches and how many people clicked through to your website.
  4. Explore this site further to determine what has been picked up and how visitors are coming to your site.

OR

B. Check the search engines directly

  1. Visit one of the top search engines (google.com, bing.com and yahoo.com)
  2. In the search box enter the phrase below (replace domainname.com.au with your actual website address).

  3. Press the "enter" button on your keyboard or click the "search" button.

If you website has been indexed, the results page will show all the links that the search engines has in its index. You may also run a search on your selected keywords or keyphrases of your website and determine where you rank in the results page.
